GCM Radiology Responds to USPSTF Screening Mammography Recommendations
November 2009 - The recently published recommendations by the U.S. Preventative Services Task Force (USPSTF), a federally-suported body, regarding screening mammograms for breast cancer have caused much confusion in both the medical and public community. The radiologists at Doctors Groover, Chrstie, and Merritt , PC do not agree nor support the USPSF findings and it is our belief that these radical changes would result in a major step backward in women's healthcare and increased deaths from breast cancer. GCM Radiology will continue to support the recommended guidelines established by the American Cancer Society, the American College of Radiology and the Society of Breast Imaging. Read more.
