New Interventional Radiologist Joins Drs. Groover, Christie, and Merritt
January 17, 2011 - Drs. Groover, Christie, and Merritt is proud to welcome Dr. Andrew Hines, a board certified Interventional Radiologist who will provide interventional services at both Suburban and Sibley Memorial Hospitals.
Dr. Hines graduated Summa Cum Laude while receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree from Harvard College. He received his Medical Degree at Harvard Medical School and went on to complete his Internship at Cabrini Medical Center in New York. His radiology and research training continued in Boston at Beth Israel Deaconess where Dr. Hines served as one of the Chief Residents. He furthered his subspecialty training with an Interventional Radiology Fellowship at John Hopkins Hospital in nearby Baltimore and has most recently served as Chief of Interventional Radiology at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Washington, DC.
Dr. Hines has special expertise in tumor interventions such as radiofrequency ablation and chemical embolization. He has published numerous articles in both Radiology and the Journal of Vascular Interventional Radiology.
